Whambulance…

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

Somebody please call the Whaaambulance! My girlfriend’s family have just decided to sell house and ship off to Australia! I can’t believe it. I am so sad. I have been crying like a baby for days now. We’ve been together for about 2 years now and I am totally madly in love with her. I think her father got a transfer with his company and as she is only 18 she has to go with him.

Man, I am so devastated. I have even been looking at ways to move to Australia myself. I know they have working holiday programs but I don’t think Americans are entitled to get them. I’ve been trying to convince her to stay with my family, but she kind of wants to go I think. I mean who wouldn’t want to leave the Bronx and go to beautiful sunny Australia. If anyone reading this has any suggestions, please please help me!

New Ping Pong Table

Monday, September 24th, 2007

Well, it’s been over a month now but my new ping pong table finally arrived yesterday. I’ve been an avid ping pong player ever since high school and when I moved into my own apartment I decided it would be nice to have a table for our spare room. My friend had previously had one and we used to enjoy regular Friday evening, beer, pizza and ping pong tournaments. Naturally, my friends didn’t want to put much money up against me because I’m quite good. I recommended they buy some ping pong & table tennis videos to help them with their technique. I remember watching a video a few years ago and have picked up some great tips.

Since setting up the new table I’ve had a few friends come over eager to get in some practice before the betting starts this weekend. Usually, I invite 10 friends over and we play a kind of round robin. We each put in $20 and the winner takes all at the end. No prize for the runner up. It’s just like your local pub pool comp except without all the drunken louts. When I next get some cash I plan to buy a plasma screen and play the ping pong & table tennis videos whilst we are playing for some inspiration. It should be loads of fun.

Laptop Batteries

Sunday, September 16th, 2007

Can someone tell me why laptop batteries are so damn expensive? I recently purchased a new Fujitsu laptop and whilst I love it’s functions and usability, the battery life is just way to short. For this reason I decided to purchase a second one so that when I am sitting on a long 12 hour flight somewhere I will still have enough power to complete my business reports. But this plan all changed when I discovered that a battery for my particular model was several hundred dollars.

What a rip-off. I mean really, why is it that batteries cost like a quarter of the price of the laptop? They don’t even last that long either. My current battery only lasts about 3 hours and it seems it never really fully charges. If I do go ahead with the purchase I just hope I get the additional 6-8 hours of battery life that it promises!

In need of an Attorney?

Sunday, September 16th, 2007

Have you ever been in a situation where you’ve needed an attorney quickly but haven’t a clue as to where to find a good one? Well, I have. About two weeks ago I was involved in a serious car accident that was caused by a drunk driver. My car was completely totalled and I haven’t been able to work since it occured. Luckily, I was recommended by a friend to take a look at the Attorney Directory he’d found on the Internet. It was so helpful because the lawyers are broken down by State and were easily contactable all completely free of charge.

Now, it’s looking like I will get a rather handsome settlement from this court case. The drunk driver is most likely going to have to pay for a new car and damages for the time off work I’ve had. The good thing is that he is a doctor, so he has money to be able to pay for all of this. Had it of been some young kid, I probably would never had seen a penny from all of this. My advice is if you are looking for a good attorney to check out the AmericanLawyerReferral.com website.

Halloween

Sunday, September 2nd, 2007

Does anyone know where I can buy some really cool Halloween Fancy Dress Costumes? I know that Halloween is another month or so away but my kids are really looking forward to it because it is the first time they will enjoy this great festivity. I remember as a child I used to love getting dressed up as some ghoulish ghoul or scary monster. It is amazing to see how creative some of the costumes have become these days. In my day, mom used to whip up something from the old clothes around the house and off we were sent, only to come home hours later with bags full of candy.

I have twins and both (obviously) have just turned 10 years old. This is the first time I am letting them venture out on their own to go trick or treating. In previous years I have either gone with them, or stood back in the background just to make sure that they were safe and under parental supervision. I have two boys so finding two very unique and scary costumes is going to be quite the dilemma hence why I am starting to prepare now! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Puff, Puff, Cough, Cough

Saturday, September 1st, 2007

I just bought an awesome new Vaporizer last week, so now my parents can’t complain about my smoking anymore. I mean really, I am 27 years old and my parents are still harping on about quitting. I actually really love kicking back with a few friends watching sports on my plasma while smoking and drinking beer. What more is there to life? Anyway, these vaporizers are apparently a lot better for your health and more importantly they get the best part of the cigarette filtered for inhaling. It also reduces odors which is what I think is my mother’s biggest concern, NOT my health!

I guess I should probably consider moving out. I am 28 years old next month. The thing is, I save a lot of money, my mother still cooks and cleans for me AND I have unlimited access to Dad’s BMW. I suppose if I was a better son, I would probably just quit smoking altogether. It isn’t that easy though, as I have tried so many times. Well, if anything this vaporizer will keep them off my back for awhile!
