So you want to debate huh?

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

This is after all the Internet. Who doesn’t find themselves sooner or later in the midst of a life-or-death debate, one that consumes time and has absolutely no effect whatsoever on the opinions of anybody that matters.

Here’s a tip to make your debate more enjoyable: 3 Rules of Debate

1. BE HUMBLE  - much easily to eat small crow than big.

2. Qualify your statements. (”Atheists do not deny God’s existence” <- Wholesale lie. “Some atheists do not deny God’s existence“. <- Accurate)

3. Know thy facts.

Gadgets

Looking out from my balcony in sunny, bright LA, I am wondering how I fit in the big picture of the city. I found a site online that sells GPS gadgets. I really want another toy to play with since my other 50 gadgets got eaten by the dog or sunk in the pool.

I headed down to the local electronic gadgets store and I found something new. I bought a Garmin 496 GPS. It is small and light but has lots of features. So far I found that it comes in 5 colors, although I always choose the black ones. I took it to the park and found that it was very accurate too. I think it could be much more handy when I got hiking or get lost in Beverly Hills. I actually do get lost often but usually its in the city.

I dropped it while at the supermarket yesterday and it didn’t get a scratch on it. It really is much tougher than I expected. I dropped my Ipod and it shattered last time. I really hate when that happens. I go through the trouble of picking a new color and I end up breaking it and having to go back and pickup the black one again. The black colored gadgets never seem to break.

Lehigh Valley

Thursday, November 1st, 2007

Looking at my watch showed me I was late for classes again. I slept through the first semester, so I am really needing some help with my Test scores now. I love it here so I don’t want to leave, but I gotta get my life organized so I can pass these classes. My first few classes here have been great, I met so many new people and teachers.

I really like my classes here too because of the curriculum. Its based on quality structure and a foundation that is easy to understand. Here is where I am going now, take a look Lehigh Valley College. Can you see the students in the pictures? I am the one on the right. I almost fell asleep that day. I really need to bring more coffee to my classes.

Have you heard that Starbucks will now offer more caffeine in their drinks if you tell them to? I think that is a good combination with the rising levels of sleeping students in classrooms. I think it might even help my grades too. What do you think? Does caffeine equal good grades? Or does good grades come from thinking and practicing? I tend to believe its a combination of both. I like to think that Starbucks is a method of self-medication.
