Personal Injury Attorney in San Francisco

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

Watching some of the best TV in the world, nightly news, I see violence and mayhem from street muggings to misguided foreign wars. None of this stuff should be in front of children unless we want to brainwash them into thinking that all this violence is what life is all about. Why can’t we see more of what life really is, or even what life needs to be, more understanding and compassion? Well the short answer is that people don’t sit down to watch it, they only want to indulge in the graphic disturbing news. I did see my attorney on TV though. He was shown helping a couple seek settlement on a car accident. He was voted the best San Francisco Personal Injury Accident Attorney because of his commitment to getting the facts straight and helping the clients get their case won by using honorable tactics and ethics. I wish TV had more ethics like my attorney, we could all use a dose of positive reality more often.

Overseas Opportunities

Thursday, December 13th, 2007

These days, work is a little more protected than before in some ways. I have a close friend who just moved overseas. He is a construction worker that specializes in high-rise buildings and elite structures. He does a lot of manual work, but mostly just directs the work crews. He just started working for a new company, a really large one in the UK. He was concerned because his insurance from the USA had expired when he went overseas. But to his delight, he found even better security with a Construction Liability Insurance policy from his new employer.

This policy will cover him whenever he is at the job site. He actually will get a lower premium and a higher payout if something goes wrong. I just didn’t think that could be possible overseas, because of different labor laws, but it is. He has better insurance, more pay, and greater security because of all the new demand in Europe and especially Dubai. He is really excited about all this and tells me all about it.

I really am questioning my own situation now. With the economy in question and my website fees getting higher. I wonder what lies ahead. I am happy for him and I already made a new resume to submit to his company. Maybe they have some work I can telecommute for. I like the insurance he has, maybe I can get something like that while working on the computer. Hmmm, well one can wish.

Cash Is The New Wave In China

Tuesday, December 4th, 2007

Cindy Chen is waving a thick wad of US bills in the air. “I love cash,” she says. “I just love it, love it, love it.” Cindy is not alone, according to a new study by Sector Seven, a California think-tank, chaired by former popular American new wave singer Fred Schneider. Most Chinese, the study claims, are doing their transactions in cash.

Schneider, 68, who once fronted legendary New York new wave combo The B-52’s, now chairs the prestigious Sector Sixty, a global finanacial organization, with plush offices located in many third world nations, usually on the third floor or above. “I don’t like new wave,” he says these days, “I’m more of a smooth jazz guy at the moment.”

One of Schneider’s other chief interests at the moment is China, and the new fabulous emerging free-market economy that is coming of age there. “What is so totally awesome about China, besides the food, is that it is an entirely cash-based system,” he beamed recently.

“One of the reasons I love cash is that I can see it - it’s tangible,” beamed Ms.Chen. “I’m trying to get a lot of it,” she added.

New Plasma Debacle

Monday, August 20th, 2007

About two days ago I bought my first ever plasma screen. A whopping 52inch Panasonic. Now, one would think that this would be a joyous occasion for me but it turned out to be a bit of a debacle. The credit card processing information somehow got mixed up and I was greeted by some police just yesterday who claimed I had used a stolen credit card. This of course was just a big mistake but I was in the police station for literally 4 hours whilst they tried to figure out how this error had occurred.

In the end it turned out to be a simple computer glitch at the credit card processing company. It turns out that someone else’s credit card information was entered into the system purely because they had the same name as me. Apparently, this kind of error occurs quite often, but eventually the rightful card is billed. Needless to say I was very unimpressed by the whole situation and the credit card company decided to offer me double points on my purchase as a way of saying sorry.

Entrepreneurial Dreams

Thursday, April 19th, 2007

Haven’t been able to catch decent sleep as of late as I had an insomniac past couple of days, but my plasma TV has been there with me lulling me to sleep with late night infomercials for tomato slicers and pyramid schemes, and I guess there’s been some sort of subliminal message implanted in my brain while I slept cause now I’m toying with the idea of possibly embarking on a small business venture. I don’t think I’m being serious about the whole thing but I find myself trying to think up clever new business schemes when my brain goes into idle mode. Also been reading some small business articles and inventor’s biographies like Alba Edison’s and John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich.

I probably won’t be venturing into the exciting world of small businesses just yet, and probably once I start sleeping normally again and away from late night infomercials I’ll forget the whole thing, for a while at least (hey, never say never right?), but at least I have the knowledge that I too can dream and that knowledge is power. Plus now there is an extra, lone, magazine in my bathroom that is not about sports or a plasma TV catalog, although I should probably donate it to my public library because the next time I read will probably be in 2017 and by then the articles will be grossly outdated and besides, those lazy librarians need some cataloguing to do.

The Stock Market

Saturday, March 3rd, 2007

I am so tired of not having any money that I have decided to buy stocks in order to increase my cash flow. This has all come about because I desperately want to buy a 50 inch plasma TV. Almost all of my friends now own plasma screens, but I am too busy spending or should I say wasting my money on booze. I have a buddy who has recently started working for stock broking company and he has made thousands of dollars in only a few weeks on the stock market. He told me he’d be happy to offer me some free advice on what stocks I should buy. I think it sounds like a pretty good idea. Not only will I be able to purchase a new Sony plasma but I may actually save some money for my future.

It’s funny how as you get older, the more you start to think about your financial future and spending less on partying and more on tangible items. This year I will turn 30 and while all of my friends are successful and working for big multinational companies, I am still seeing a negative balance in my bank account. You might say that buying plasma screens shouldn’t be on the list of high priority purchases, but I think if I owned one, I would be less likely to go out every weekend and spend money at a club. Probably, I wouldn’t leave my sofa. I would just be watching loads of sports and the new season on 24 on it.
